This course has been developed specifically for MRC volunteers who are interested in assisting with shelter assessment and monitoring activities in the event on emergency requiring mass sheltering.
This course will cover the public health activities related to emergency shelters for people after a disaster. Specifically covered will be assessing the shelter facility and procedures for sanitation to prevent injury and disease, as well as implementation of a surveillance system to detect illness clusters and medical needs.
